Amends 0227: a row is added for a
browser-extension agent connector, which is deferred. The table changes only by a new ADR, and
0283 is that ADR.
Context
An agent can act inside the user’s own browser through an extension: it reads the pages the user has open and clicks and types there, with the user’s signed-in sessions. Stackra’s agents reach outside systems through server-side connectors and MCP tools (0155, 0217), and browse in sandboxes. The owner decided on 2026-10-22 to defer a browser-extension connector.Decision
- Deferred. No browser-extension agent connector is built or shipped: no extension, no bridge from the extension to
@stackra/ai, and no agent tool that drives the user’s browser. - Use instead. Server-side connectors and MCP tools for outside systems; Playwright in sandboxes when an agent must browse.
- The table. 0227 carries the row, with this ADR as its source.
Consequences
- An agent never acts with the user’s browser sessions, so there is no extension to distribute, review or keep in step with browser stores.
- A task that only works inside a signed-in browser page is not automated until a connector or an API covers it.
