# Navigation

> Adding pages, groups and tabs in docs.json.

Pages appear in the sidebar only once they're listed in `docs.json` under `navigation`. Use the file path without `.mdx`:

```

* A **tab** is a top-level section in the navbar.
* A **group** is a sidebar heading.
* A page can set `sidebarTitle` and `icon` in its frontmatter.

`mint broken-links` (run by `pnpm lint`) catches links to pages that don't exist.
